Alex is a shareholder who joined the firm in 2003. Alex focuses his practice on transactional matters, including commercial real estate acquisitions, development, financing and leasing, as well as other commercial business transactions. Alex also advises clients on entity formation and governance issues, as well as local government law.

Alex’s experience includes representing clients in a variety of commercial real estate transactions in North Carolina and South Carolina, including leases (retail space and ground), acquisitions and sales, financing (representation of both borrowers and lenders), condominium formation, and development work (including drafting and negotiation of mixed-use declarations of covenants and restrictions, reciprocal easement agreements, and development agreements). Alex’s experience also includes formation of non-profit and for-profit corporations (including property owners associations) and limited liability companies, including preparation of bylaws, operating agreements, and other organizational documents.

Alex is also a licensed title insurance agent. Prior to joining Spencer & Spencer, P.A. in 2003, Alex was an associate at Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman, LLP, practicing out of its Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina, offices.
